David is a Registered Professional Surveyor as well as a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor holding a Diploma in Land
Surveying from the University of Otago and a Diploma in Town planning
from the University of Auckland. David has been a Principal of
Madsen-Lawrie for over 40 years and has worked in the Franklin area for
more than 45 years. He is a member of the NZ Institute of Surveyors, the
NZ Planning Institute and the Consulting Surveyors of NZ.
David has
extensive knowledge in all facets of land development with a particular
focus on subdivision design. Outside of work David is involved with
numerous conservation organisations including Miranda Naturalists Trust,
Royal Forest and Bird, NZ Fish & Game, National Wetland Trust, and
the Ornithological Society of NZ. His work in these areas has seen him
recognised as a Member of the NZ Order of Merit in 2004 for his
contribution to conservation.
Ben is a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor holding a Bachelor of Surveying from the University of Otago and is a member of the NZ Institute of Surveyors. Ben has worked for Madsen-Lawrie for over 14 years, starting as a surveying assistant during summer breaks from University and then continuing his career with Madsen-Lawrie as a Graduate, and then Licensed Land Surveyor.
Ben has extensive experience in applying for land-use and subdivision resource consents, conducting complex surveys as well as with subdivision design. Outside of work Ben has been involved with the Onewhero Rugby Club for many years, enjoys fishing off Great Barrier Island but spends most of his spare time chasing after his young son and daughter who are self appointed "little surveyors".
